Attention Runners!

A 50-year-old woman who is an avid runner had a one-year follow up appointment with me yesterday. A year ago, she had a sling implanted through a minimally invasive surgical procedure. While this procedure is not advisable in every case, she was an ideal candidate, and is thrilled with her results.

Prior to having a sling, she only ran at home on the treadmill — with dish towels between her legs! When one got soaked, she would toss it off and put another one between her legs and keep going. Did I mention she was also wearing a pad?

One year later, she has been running pad- and dish towel- free. Not to mention she has less laundry to do, something I think all women would be excited about!

To all the runners who are leaking, there is hope!
