Your questions answered.

“Who would think that treating a bladder problem would result in an improved sex life?”

Q: What can The Accidental Sisterhood Progressive Plan do for me?

A: This book will give you a comprehensive overview of bladder problems like female incontinence, overactive bladder and prolapse, and gives you a plan that can help you regain continence and control. At the heart of the text is The Accidental Sisterhood Progressive Plan, which will help treat and prevent bladder control problems with the following strategies:

  • Progressive Pelvic Floor Exercises (Kegels) – Developing pelvic floor awareness and strength
  • Bladder Training – Exercising mind over bladder
  • Behavior Modification – Identifying personal habits and the things in your diet that may be at the root of your problem

But there's a lot more to it than that. The Accidental Sisterhood Progressive Plan can help you laugh again without fear of an embarrassing accident. It can help you return to a comfortable, confident way of living that isn't filled with anxiety and fear. The book and The Sisterhood Plan are designed to give you back your self-confidence and help you live a healthier, happier life.

Q: Is The Accidental Sisterhood Progressive Plan an alternative bladder treatment to incontinence medication?

A: Many women have been prescribed medications such as Detrol® and Darifenacin (Enablex®) or are taking over the counter drugs like Hyland's EnurAid™ for bladder problems. You can do The Accidental Sisterhood Progressive Plan while taking these bladder control products as you work towards bladder health. The ultimate goal of the program is to help you eliminate constant and involuntary urination so that you can stop taking expensive medications.

Q: How can The Accidental Sisterhood Progressive Plan help improve my sex life?

A: It's no secret that vaginal tightness contributes to an enhanced sexual experience. That's why a weak pelvic floor not only creates bladder problems, it can also lead to unsatisfactory sex. The Accidental Sisterhood Progressive Plan focuses on pelvic floor exercises (Kegels) to help increase blood flow and sensation to vaginal muscles, which may result in a renewed love for bedroom activities with your partner. See our sexual benefits page for more information.

Q: How long does it take to see results?

A: When you commit to all three parts of The Accidental Sisterhood Progressive Plan, most women may begin to see continence improvement  as soon as six to eight weeks. Read our Success Stories or post your own.

Q: Am I too old for this to work?

A: No. It's never too late to begin The Accidental Sisterhood Progressive Plan, and there certainly isn't an age limit. It works for people of all ages.

Q: Can I do The Accidental Sisterhood Progressive Plan if I've had bladder surgery in the past or I'm considering it in the future?

A: The Accidental Sisterhood Progressive Plan is a great complement to bladder control surgery. It's a safe and effective way to help speed your recovery time and ensure that your results will last long into the future. Be sure to talk to your health-care provider about pelvic floor therapy before you begin The Accidental Sisterhood Progressive Plan.

Q: What is Dr. Raymond Bologna's background?

Q: What is InterStim Therapy?

A: Medtronic InterStim Therapy for Urinary Control treats urinary retention (inability to completely empty the bladder) and the symptoms of overactive bladder, including urinary urge incontinence (leakage) and significant symptoms of urgency-frequency. Created by Medtronic, the developer of the pacemaker, Medtronic InterStim Therapy helps your bladder better communicate with your brain by stimulating the connecting nerves with mild electrical pulses. This treatment can easily be tested with a short outpatient procedure that involves connecting a thin, flexible wire to your sacral nerves near your tailbone. It should be used after you have tried other treatments, such as the conservative therapies described in The Accidental Sisterhood book or medications, and they have not worked, or you could not tolerate them.
